In Grade Eight, students will. . .

 

RELIGION:

·          Learn about the History of the Church, its founding, birth, its marks, heresies, struggles; the Fathers, Doctors, Martyrs and Saints

·          History of the Church in America

·          Relation of Judaism to Catholic church; Eastern Churches

·          Knowledge of some non-Catholic denominations

·          Understanding Catholic Social Teaching in everyday life

·          Role of Magisterium, clergy, religious, laity, personal vocation

·          Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation including: 

Christian service activities

Daily prayer, Liturgies, Prayer of Christians

Personal relationship with Jesus through prayer and Scripture

Review and recite, assigned vocal prayers, sacraments, beatitudes, works of mercy, gifts and fruits of the Spirit
